Perfume Recipes
My favorite fact about using essential oils as perfume or cologne is the therapeutic benefits. Unlike the store bought perfumes and colognes, essential oils are natural and the store bought ones are full of chemicals that often cause the user and/or others exposed to you, chemical reactions such as nausea and headaches. Essential oils create a pleasant, natural scent that actually promotes wellness and benefits you.
There are 3 basic layers to a perfume scent. First you’ll smell the quick-evaporating top scent, followed a moment later by the middle scent —the heart of the perfume. Finally, you’ll catch the base scents, which complement the top and middle.
When selecting oils for your perfume, start with the base, soften with a middle, and finish with a top scent that makes a positive first impression.
SIMPLE PERFUME/COLOGNE RECIPE:
~Distilled Water
~Witch Hazel (Buy it Here on Amazon)
~1 Base Oil
~1 Middle Oil
~1 Top Oil
~1 Glass 10ml Spray Bottle (BUY HERE)
DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF BOTTLE YOU ARE USING, THE AMOUNTS YOU ADD WILL DIFFER. FOR A 10ML BOTTLE USE 10-15 DROPS OF EACH OIL YOU CHOOSE. I SUGGEST YOU TRY THE COMBINATION OF SCENTS YOU CHOOSE FIRST, BY USING 1 DROP OF EACH OIL IN A MIXING BOWL WITH A DROP OF THE WITCH HAZEL. THIS WILL GIVE YOU THE OPPORTUNITY TO TEST THE BLEND BEFORE DOING AN ENTIRE BATCH.
